Introducing the Aleo Governors: Guardians of the Governance Process
To ensure a smooth and efficient governance process, the Aleo Ambassador Program has been expanded to include a new role: the Governor. - Loose Thoughts: This channel serves as a breeding ground for nascent ideas that may eventually evolve into full-fledged ARCs. Here, Aleo Ambassadors (Maestros, Voyagers, Apprentices, and DevRel) can share their initial thoughts and spark discussions around potential improvements. Governors actively manage these discussions, fostering constructive feedback and identifying those with the most promise. After thorough discussion, Governors can choose to either decline and close the topic or elevate a particularly strong “loose thought” to an official ARC proposal.
- Proposals: This channel is dedicated to more formalized proposals that adhere to stricter quality guidelines. Roles entitled to submit ARCs directly include the Aleo Team, elected Governors, and Aleo Grantees. Proposals outline specific suggestions for new features or functionalities within the Aleo ecosystem. These proposals follow predefined guidelines, ensuring clarity and direction.

- Connect your Discord and wallet to authenticate your identity.
- Click on “+ New Proposal” to initiate the creation process.
- Provide a detailed explanation of your proposal, adhering to the provided instructions.
- Choose between “Submit” to publish the proposal immediately or “Save Draft” to revisit it later.
The ARC author has the flexibility to define the voting period and options for each proposal, allowing for customization based on the specific proposal’s nature. Upon submission, a corresponding discussion channel with the same ARC number and name is automatically created within the “Proposals” channel on the Discord server.
