Testnet v1: What Happened?
Version 1 of our testnet was a tremendous success in terms of participation and engagement, with over 600,000 wallets registered thanks to the strong interest and support from our community. However, licensing issues necessitated a comprehensive network upgrade. Despite the success, we knew there was room for improvement.

We received over 33,000 applications from users wanting to become validators. After filtering out bots and noise, we have 2,500 active validators — thank you for the amazing response! We implemented an objective validator selection process to ensure fair and transparent choices, which was vital for maintaining the network’s integrity. To better track the activities of various services, such as storage nodes and key-value stores, we have developed a sophisticated monitoring service. This tool helps maintain optimal network performance.
Transition to 0GChain Naming Convention
To better align with our branding and vision, we adopted the 0GChain naming convention. This change simplifies communication and documentation within our ecosystem.
Upgraded Storage Nodes
We support sharded mining and storage, allowing each storage node to focus on specific data shards that need to be mined.
